The White Lake Public Advisory Council (PAC) will, from time to time, sponsor and promote educational events to keep the public apprised concerning the status of White Lake now that it is delisted.

Past Events
Strategic Plan and New White Lake Organization
The strategic plan and new organizational concept was presented to the public at this meeting. There were opportunities for questions and input on the new initiative, especially in involving the community in future stewardship activities, after the presentation.

- 6:30 to 8:00 pm the White Lake Public Advisory Council (PAC) will host a public meeting to present a strategic plan and new White Lake organization to focus protection and stewardship efforts beyond the delisting of White Lake as a Great Lakes Area of Concern.

- Description
- Since the fall of 2014, members of the PAC have been meeting to discuss what is needed to maintain progress made at restoring White Lake and address current and future issues. The group identified a new organization as necessary for this next stage of stewardship of White Lake, in addition to a vision, mission, goals and objectives.

- The Muskegon Conservation District will provide financial administration, when needed, and the City of Whitehall will be providing administrative services to the new initiative.
Beyond Delisting: Protecting White Lake Workship
The PAC coordinated a free, educational workshop for area residents interested in learning what state and federal programs are in place to address ongoing and future environmental issues associated with White Lake.

- The workshop will feature a lineup of expert presenters, including:
- Michelle Bruneau, project manager/health educator for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, on fish consumption guidelines for White Lake
- Heather Hopkins, environmental quality analyst for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality on contaminated site cleanups
- Luis Saldivia, environmental manager for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality on shoreline permitting
- John Perrecone, environmental protection specialist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on federal environmental programs and resources
- Matt Doss, policy director for the Great Lakes Commission on its programs and policy initiatives
- Dr. Thomas Tisue of the White Lake Association and the White River Watershed Partnership on the groups' environmental quality monitoring programs
- Mike Mack of the White Lake Area Sustainability Network on community sustainability initiatives
- The workshop will feature a lineup of expert presenters, including:

- There will be information booths for each discussion topic, as well as a booth with recycling resources from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
- A free tote bag with a new White Lake the Beautiful Delisted logo designed by Whitehall resident Joan Scott will be provided to all attendees.
- The workshop panel discussion will be followed by a question and answer session and an opportunity to visit with the presenters at their information booths.
